RANDOMS

The cold front that had gripped the East Coast by the balls is finally gone, thank God. I’m not even gonna try and explain how cold it was; imma let the partial email I sent CK last Thursday tell it:

“Hell, or
Virginia for that matter, froze over yesterday. I'm talking about rain that later froze everything into gigantic ice-cubes. I couldn't even get out of my parking space this morning, and last evening I had to chip away at the ice on the whip which was an icebox, not unlike Omarion. The freaking windows wouldn't even power down; they were frozen shut!

But to answer your question, I was off yesterday. Bob, tho, came to work for a minute, then later went back home. Talk about dedication! But then again, he owns the joint.”

Speaking of, some hindiots only take the snow and ice off their cars’ windshields and no place else, and then roll. Then, on the highway when their cars hit that critical speed, shards of ice fly off and other drivers behind have to either dodge or brave them. Live and let live, I say. Get all, or most for that matter, of the ice or snow off your whips! I know why most people don’t do it tho, and I can’t really blame them. It’s freakin' cold!

And speaking of driving, I was driving back home some time back and was doing about 95 on i95 when a rock flew off the back of the truck in front of me and struck the windshield and yo, the impact sounded like a rifle-shot - that loud! I was so shook I had to laugh at myself afterward. The windshield now has a crack all the way across but whatever; rigors of life.

Ballads might be coming back after all, for all y’all R&B lovers. Like, Jennifer Hudson straight kills it in ‘And I’m Telling You.’ [That joint gives me goose-bumps; she’s so passionate, for lack of a better word, in the delivery!] I also especially like Marques Houston’s ‘Circle,’ Sammie’s ‘Come With Me,’ Joe’s ‘Where You At,’ Omarion’s ‘Ice Box,’ Tamia’s ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ Robin Thicke’s ‘Lost Without You,’ Musiq’s ‘Buddy,’ [love it] Lionel Richie’s ‘What You Are,’ not to mention even Bow Wow’s ‘Outta My System.’ Shoot, I even like Diddy’s and Keyshia’s ‘Last Night,' as terrible as it is. Keyshia's not great on that one even.

Speaking of which, Diddy really is the man. He has no real talent, with the exception of his uncanny business sense. He can only rap convincingly, can’t sing for sh*t, isn’t great in any sport and isn’t particularly good-looking. Despite all that, he’s easily one of the hardest working people in showbiz and really rakes in the dinero, and for that I’ve mad respect for him.

Went to church this past Sunday, thanks to my girl G.R. It was good and much to my surprise and delight, the choir & band performed this hymn which I hadn’t heard in a while. I daresay there’s no other hymn that depicts such surrender, such selflessness. Reminds me how far I’ve got to go in my relentless quest for self-improvement.

Forgot to mention – I love Kirk Franklin’s ‘Imagine Me.’ Powerful.

I enjoyed watching the NBA All-Star goings-on. Wade was on point, Kobe was showboating as usual, Shaq was busy acting a fool, my girl Gabrielle Union was gracing the stands [*drool/sigh*] as was Beyonce who looked really good, and Christina Aguilera straight killed the performance at halftime on Sunday. My boy J-Dub had tickets to the festivities, lucky bastard.

And seeing how I have to go out there early mañana to hustle, I gotta go. Be safe y’all.

Yeah, seems to be some bugs in this new Blogger. I still don't know what to think about it.
Been considering Wordpress, actually. How's this sound: performancefirst.wordpress.com, huh? [wink-wink]
