PROPITIOUS

It’s too soon to be too optimistic, but I’m liking ’07 already, all 8 or so days into it so far. I finally see light at the end of the tunnel; I just hope it isn’t a train.

For starters, I think I’ve finally started to distinguish between things I need and things I want. The things I need are, naturally, things I can’t do without, while the things I want tend to clean out my bank account. That in itself is a great accomplishment, I daresay. For instance, I wanted to get me a new phone today. Now, I already have a perfectly good cellie that I hardly ever use, so why get another? I was >this< close to purchasing one too, tsk tsk!

Then, confidence in myself at work is at an all time high. I’ve acquired this knack for leaving my clients/customers really satisfied, even to the point of them not wanting to deal with anyone else in the establishment. It’s either confidence & fluidity of speech that I’ve recently acquired or I’ve become a good bullshitter. Either way, it works.

Plus, despite my being on the Bilaz Train® for a minute, I’m not in any hurry to be with anyone else. I’m not saying it’s easy, don’t get me wrong. Ho hooo, best believe it’s not been easy at all! However, those relationships I’ve had in the past helped me narrow down what it is I want in a woman and, more importantly, what I don’t, which follows that I almost feel like J. Isaac in ‘How I Roll.’ Beauty is only skin deep, ladies and gentlemen, as I’ve learned the hard way. Several times.

In addition, I’ve acquired some real good friends who’ve really got my back as much as I’ve got theirs. True friends are few and far between, and I’m real thankful for mine. One too many times I’ve been in friendships that are one-sided, friendships that’ve emotionally bled me dry. Never that, not no more. This is probably a pretty lousy example, but I liken friendship to, say, 2 computers linked through a modem. Through the modem both computers are constantly uploading and downloading data. Both processes have to occur or it won’t do any of the computers any good, knowwhati’msayin’? Such is friendship.
[Now, for all y’all techies, don’t even start reading too much into this analogy, thinking about 802.1g, routers and stuff, OK? :)]

Good luck to you all, and I trust that 2007 will be kind to you. And me.

U give 100% satisfaction guaranteed a whole new meaning i guess....on my end, ur at 42%....put it this way...it's higher than Bush's approval rating.

Trust you to know that mofo's approval rating!

Collabo &/or incommunicado aren't necessarily the benchmarks of friendship, or lack thereof, are they? Bottom line is, to quote your boy, 'I got you.'

The whole optimism schtick will end.

FYI- I don't know his exact numbers but anyone can guess they're abysmal to say the least...

Not a benchmark but a criterion. Funny u quote "ur" boy...au contraire, u don't quite got me....

Buff is more confident than i am...i give u 5 weeks.

>Buff: O ye of little faith! Best believe you'll hear about it if this persists!

>D: 'Abysmal?' 'Criterion?! 'Contraire?!!' Hot dang! And you say I use big words?!
Like Buff, you too WILL hear about it!

Hey you - just wanted to wish you the best in 2007... I am sure one way or another I will become better at keeping in touch and become a better friend too. As for you - well - keep it up (not literally, geek) and yes when you were talking all geeky, well, I interpreted it in a whole lots of ways.

Blessings :)

Glad the year is going well for you. The satisfaction of knowing what you want and settling for nothing less in a relationship is priceless.

I agree totally with you on the even contribution in friendships. Carrying people who take advantage of your kindness is no fun.

Happy new year!

>G: Heeeyyy! Great to hear from you! Truth be told, I haven't exactly been communicative either, but I'll do my darndest to change.

Interpreted it in a whole lot of ways, huh? I see you still have your sense of humor! :)

Have a great year too!

>Aegeus: Happy new year to you too!

Fate is not without a sense of irony tho; just when I sometimes think everything's peachy it gets real sh*tty. But hey, gotta roll with the punches, eh?

d.... Let us not begin to discuss his communication skills... I left that mess and in 2006.
Abysmal does not begin to describe it!

All love >d :)

And yes, I have little faith....

IN YOU!

>Buff: It's not so much the lack communication skills as it is its deficiency, right?

>Princess: Feliz año nuevo too, thanks!

Baby boy: Like all students, I've given you a 100% faith-rating to start off 2007...for everytime you fail to....communicate, it goes down...sound fair? I'll bet u $$$ by August, it will make the Prez.'s approval rating post-last night's speech look like heaven.

Oh ye of little faith? Nah...Ye lives in the real world...

Like I said - O ye of little faith!

Who knows, I might flip the script on you; I know how much that catches you offguard, when I'm unpredictable, which would be like all the time!
