GUESS WHO'S BACK

Yeah, I'm back, thank God. I'd underestimated how busy I'd be coz I'd thought I'd only be MIA in February and here we are, halfway through March already! The workload
has diminished as suddenly as it begun so here I am again. Thank y'all for checking out performancefirst from time to time.

It's like 1.57am. [I mentioned before that I'm nocturnal, I hope] Just got back home; drove about 2.5hrs straight. I almost wished the trip was longer, really, because I was enjoying myself.

Not so much because I was driving - though I always enjoy that. [The Honda Civic I smoked on i83 made the driving experience even better. It's the first time since my incarceration that I've sped well into the triple digits. Tsk tsk. I never learn, do I?] What made the drive so enjoyable is the fact that I [re]discovered that I'm in love.

Yes, that's what I said, in love.

I've been so busy being busy I forgot all about it. Well, not forgot, more like took it for granted.
I absolutely, positively love music. And I just don't love music, I'm in love with it.

Granted, I listen to pretty much all genres but much more to Hip Hop & RnB. Here's a screen shot of the Hip Hop I was listening to while riding.

Busta Rhymes' 'Touch It' remix is absolutely sizzling, not to mention T.I.'s 'What You Know About That.' As you can see from the list I like that Durrty South Hip Hop a lot.

Here's another screen shot, this one showing the RnB songs. I haven't updated the list lately so these are comparatively much fewer but still in heavy rotation.

Needless to say I've got a bunch of Keyshia Cole joints. I like Anthony Hamilton's new one, not to mention Heather Headley's. For some reason the songs that exhibit hurt and regret have enormous appeal, eh?

Anyhow, let me try & catch a few winks just so I'm not a complete zombie tomorrow. [Though tomorrow's today already] Besides, the bed's looking real good to me right now!

Needless to say, Keyshia's my girl. Shoot, she's the only artist with a whole post dedicated to her over here on performancefirst! Hope she makes it big.

2.5 hours on the road?!Do you work out of State?I see you are a top 40 kinda guy as I can see from your playlist. As you know my sounds tend to be more esoteric. So how long were you in for speeding?

|d®| said...

Nah man, I was just out of town for the weekend. I like being away over the weekends just so I can live a little.

I was only in the slammer for 24hrs. Every last minute of that sucked tho. Trust me, u don't wanna be there.

Top 40 gets old real quick tho. After all, those joints play on radio & TV all the time, & I've got 'em! I listen to the other 5,000+ while at work so it's all good.

U know i wanna comment on wat u said, but just not on here...lol. Putty???? lmao!!!! I'll put that down on the list. Oh, u can be resourceful huh? Aight...unlike u, i don't doubt ur potential....(U know my criteria)(btw, way to pick up ur phone...len't not over for another 3 weeks or so u know....)

You can't give something up in the middle of Lent, can you? :)

I'll make it up to you for all those times I didn't pick up. I'll try to anyway. Feel free to negotiate the terms.

It's amazing how a good, long drive with the right music can relax you and clear your head.

I have a well-rehearsed routine now - every Sunday afternoon, I take a nice long drive, listening to all kinds of music - just me and my machine, and the open road.

Btw, how are them 40 acres and a mule coming along? LOL!
